And?
I'm not impressed.
Frankly, I'm glad I'm not a Platinum Club member anymore. Hiro4 looks like it's going to be as big a disappointment as Aiko4 was and I'm really not in the mood for spending money on a new figure. Aiko3 and Hiro3 have worked well enough for my characters and I'm sticking with them. You know, I haven't spent any money on new Poser add-ons since November. Maybe because I'm tired of all of the slut-wear that's currently being offered at Daz and Rendo? Or maybe it has to do with the fact that Aiko4 and Vicky4 are so damned hard to morph into other characters without it still looking like the A4/V4 base? I had that problem when I was working on an Aiko4 version of Syleth and no matter what I did, it still looked like this weird Syleth/A4 hybrid, whereas A3 Syleth looks like her own character even though the Aiko3 pointers are still there.
That aside, maybe it's time for me to go back to modeling my own stuff. Maybe I should learn my way around Blender (hell, I've got The Unofficial Blender 2.3 Guide) or Hexagon. *sighs* Anyway, I thought that maybe once I had a job again, I'd renew my Platinum Club membership but I'm not so sure I want to now.
However, I reallyreallyreally want 3D Studio Max, just so I can make use of the hosting capabilities present in Poser Pro.

They're just too complex for their own good really. V4/etc. is great for naked or throwing some ridiculous couture on and having them stand around looking blank and sullen, but yeah, there's so much going on with morph chains, too much of anything really breaks them. I really worked a miracle with that Suzi figure I made up after a few weekends of work, but just using that as a reference, I got that all done on A3 in just a couple hours with only some minor Eye bone adjustment. V4/A4 I spent a good week of nights trying to adjust the eyes to my goofy SD head scale. Plus using A4 as opposed to A3 on one 360 x 480 sprite frame more than doubled the render time even using the same clothes. Basically, they're great as preset dolls, but custom don't work too well. I never even got those eyelash problems sorted out, what you saw in that one post was me going back to A3, haha.
I'm going to cut off my PC membership too now that there's really nothing that's caught my interest on the horizon. My vouchers over the last couple months have languished almost through the whole month without anything I wanted to spend five bucks on and it's only the 3rd party artists I ever really have any interest at all in these days, so I don't even get anything out of the discount. Hell, December I had almost a buck left on my voucher that I didn't end up spending.

Alright, back to the subject. You're right about the weird-looking chest, and here's another one: H4's lips look way off. It's like they were trying for androgynous and cartoony all rolled into one. Frankly, Hiro3 is lot more masculine than H4. I guess I'm going to settle for using the Gen3 characters since despite the bending issues, it seems like they're a lot more flexible.
And your comment about certain stuff being made by guys who have too much time on their hands reminded me of one of my favorite remarks that I make when encountering asshole drivers: "You got yer hand on the wrong stick, asshole!"
Oh yeah, on the clothes topic, actually doing something narrative and contemporary, you want more of that utility stuff, like say, I dunno, clothes people kinda actually wear. I had to search high and low for a decent pair of cargo pants though.

*rubs hands together* Gonna get that Mustang, dammit!
Oh, oh! That reminds me...the wonderful Xena actually made a hoodie for H4 that looks pretty good. I'd forgotten about it until now.
