Yes, I've updated this. The original had problems, like artifacts in the AO used for the ground shadows and over-exposure on Syleth's face, etc. I've corrected those problems. The AO problem I corrected by switching shadows over to raytraced shadows; I guess ambient occlusion and depthmapping doesn't work well together.
Poser Pro, Aiko3, Ford Mustang model from Renderosity...
Oooh, that looks slick. I'd have to see them with a background in place to make a better judgement, but she doesn't look out of place at all next to the car. It's a great colour that goes well with her hair too.

I decided that if Syleth was going to have a car, it would be a Ford Mustang but anyway, this render gave me waaaaaaaaaaay too many problems when it came to rendering. I was using an ambient occlusion node on the ground pane, and that produced problems of its own. Had to bump raytrace bounces up to an insane amount to even get half-way decent quality, and trying to use ambient occlusion on an IBL didn't work right either. I think it had something to do with the fact that the Mustang model is a high-res mesh. Well, that and probably the reflective mats I used on the Mustang to get that realistic clear-gloss finish.
Damn...I want a Ford Mustang. Eh, I'm foolin' myself on that one; 30 and just learning how to drive and I say I want a Mustang. Yeah right, give me the Civic Hybrid — small, sporty and fuel-efficient
Thanks, I'm hoping that with the quarter almost over that I'll have more time to concentrate on the comic; do have to do my portfolio and resume but been lazy lately — enjoying the feeling of being unemployed, I guess
